Cublington Nursery School: Communication Policy.
At Cublington Nursery School we want children to feel safe and happy in the absence of their parents/carers, to recognise other adults as a source of authority, help and friendship and to be able to share with their parents/carers afterwards the new learning experiences enjoyed in the nursery school. We will also provide diaries, written and verbal reports as agreed with the parents.
In order to accomplish this we have created our Communication Policy. We will:
- Create opportunities for the exchange of information using among other resources a copy of the nursery school’s prospectus and a shared approach to the registration form.
- Ensure plentiful opportunities for parents to inform the nursery school about their children’s current achievements and interests.
- Encourage parents to visit the nursery with their children before an admission is planned to become familiar with the expectation of the nursery.
- Involve parents in shared record keeping about their own child, both formally and informally, ensuring that parents have access to all written records on their own children.
- Ensure that parents are given information on a regular basis about their child’s progress and have an opportunity to discuss it with staff. We will instigate a daily diary between home and nursery as the need arises.
- Ensure that all new parents are aware of the nursery’s systems and policies.
- Welcome the contributions of parents, whatever form these may take.
- Make known to all parents the systems for registering queries, complaints or suggestions. Where there are differences, we will keep lines of communication open and support parents as much as possible.
- Provide a regular newsletter to inform parents about current topics, activities and dates of any events.
