The following table is our "theme" framework, formulated around the Curriculum Guidance for the Foundation Stage and the Birth to Three Matters Framework. Here you will see that under the areas of learning i.e. "Physical Development" we develop comprehensive plans. These are available in detail to view at the nursery when you visit.

1st half term - COLOURS AND SHAPES |
| WEEK 1: |
MIXED COLOURS AND SHAPES. Personal, Social and Emotional Development - settle into nursery after the Christmas holidays, encourage children to talk about their holidays and to listen to others. Paint and draw pictures to help describe their experiences. |
| WEEK 2: |
MIXED COLOURS AND SHAPES. Personal, Social and Emotional Development - work together, take turns and share while taking part in different activities and experiences. |
| WEEK 3: |
BLUE WEEK AND TRIANGLES. Creative Development and Communication, Language and Literacy - develop imagination through role play, music, movement, art and craft activities. Encourage children to recall past experiences. |
| WEEK 4: |
YELLOW WEEK AND CIRCLES. Mathematical Development - take part in activities and experiences relating to shapes and colours. Begin to use size language. |
| WEEK 5: |
GREEN WEEK AND SQUARES. Knowledge and Understanding of the World - gain an awareness of the cultures and beliefs of others. Chinese New Year and Shrove Tuesday. |

2nd half term - ANIMAL AND FARM RHYMES, MOTHER'S DAY AND EASTER (February - March) |

Mathematical Development - Mother's Day, make present and card. Take part in number activities. |

Communication, Language and Literacy - learn action songs and rhymes. |
| WEEK 3: |
Personal, Social and Emotional Development - seasonal foods, where does the food come from? Prepare and eat at snack time. |

Knowledge and Understanding of the World - discuss Easter, recall past times at Easter. Make Easter card. |

Creative Development - provide a range of craft materials and tools to make 3-dimensional structures. |
